COROB – Cooperative robotics powered by AI and data for flexible production cells - Open Call #1 - Digital Product Passports Challenge

COROB aims to develop a flexible, cooperative and intelligent multi-robotic solution for arc welding-based manufacturing processes (joining and additive manufacturing), to offer new operational capabilities that allow to increase the efficiency and improve the flexibility of industrial processes.

COROB, conceived as a global solution, will employ a cooperative multi-robot system powered by Inspection, Monitoring, Control and AI techniques to optimize the welding process, and the adjacent manufacturing stages for time, cost, energy, and resource reduction. The data generated will be processed in a data acquisition platform to feed the AI technologies, addressing optimisation, search, planning, and analysis, ensuring AI robustness and trustworthiness.

COROB aims to support these manufacturing processes with a Digital Product Passport (DPP) to promote more informed and sustainable processes. A DPP acts as a documentation tool, offering information about a product’s lifecycle, including materials, manufacturing processes and sustainability attributes. It is promoting transparency and sustainability across various sectors, fosters collaboration and may reveal unexpected benefits for stakeholders and participants, driving toward a sustainable model of consumption. Serving as a holistic approach to product design, production, distribution, usage, and collection of data allows the circulation of products and materials along value chains. Nevertheless, the digital nature of the DPP raises concerns about data security and privacy that must be addressed by proper cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information.

ICT ABOVO participated in COROB’s 1st Open Call and was awarded the development of a next-generation Digital Product Passport platform. Our solution, IntelliPass, revolutionizes Digital Product Passports (DPP) for the manufacturing industry, starting with COROB’s arc welding and WAAM processes. Our solution integrates Asset Administration Shells (AAS) with blockchain technology, leveraging fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) and Attribute-based Access Control (ABAC) to ensure data security and transparency.
Key features include:
– Advanced ABAC gateway for fine-grained access control to AAS data
– FHE-enabled blockchain for secure on-chain computations
– ZKP capabilities for verifiable yet private data sharing
– Web3 enabled administrator and user web interface

InteliPass provides a secure, flexible, and standards-compliant DPP solution offering a valuable addition to the COROB platform. IntelliPass lays the groundwork for a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable manufacturing ecosystem, benefiting manufacturers, suppliers, regulators, and end-users alike.

The COROB project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe innovation programme under grant agreement No. 101120640 and coordinated by Lortek. The COROB project started on October 2023 and ends on September 2026.
